Absinthe drinker deals with the relationship between spectator, artist and collector.
Juxtaposed images and sounds reflect and question Pop and art in general, when young rebels asked difficult questions in the late 60s. Images, referring to the collective memories -as motion pictures, the Beat Generation etc … test the limits of the American Dream.
Disenchantment with the art establishment arose in 1973 when the NY taxi company Robert Scull auctioned his Pop Art collection, revolutionizing the art world. He affirmed that big money would shape and dominate the art world in later 20th century and beyond.
