Concept

“O.M.A” (Oneiric Multiple Artifex) is a collaborative project by Karla Kracht and Enzo Mirone that explores memory. The performance invites spectators on a dreamlike journey, blurring the boundaries of time and space through sound, lights, automata, and images. It features handmade puppets, automata, musical instruments, recorders, megaphones, video projections, and more, orchestrated to engage multiple sensory levels. The project began in May 2023, with a planned duration of 45-60 minutes and a premiere in Italy in summer 2024. 

Enzo handles sonic creation as a multi-instrumentalist, while Karla contributes to the visual part, such as object creation, puppetry, multimedia programming, and light design. 

Karla and Enzo met in Malta in October 2022, where they attended a performing arts festival and artistic residency. They were fascinated by each other’s work. Both use analogue tools to tell their stories and poetic universes through video, music, sounds, spoken word and miniature creatures and objects, whilst also using technology in more or less advanced forms. They immediately felt the urge to experiment and jointly develop a performance, integrating their means, techniques and universes in the service of a poetic and immersive show.
