Crystal Seeds

This live cinema performance is based on the expertise of cultivating crystals on luminous fiber-optic fabrics, wool and 3D prints. These crystals, together with other fabrics, work as interfaces. They are the basis for an experimental session in real-time, where through image, audio and light processing, the audience is guided through an aquatic, alkaline, sidereal and expanded experience.

THE EXPANDED WORK

Crystal Seeds is the first seed, sprouting in the electric garden of Frankensistas. This multimedia performance is the result of the extensive work of two artists who integrate their creative approaches into an expanded piece.

An experiment in real-time that shows growing elements such as crystals cultivated on fiber optics or 3D prints derived from the photogrammetry of handmade sculptures of cyborg deities. Other mutating processes are dyes connected to electricity, revealing their full chromatic spectrum. This information, in traditional Andean dyes, reveals the components of the stars.

Handwoven Fabrics, using traditional Andean techniques, act as interfaces to modify lights, sounds, videos and effects. In other scenes, these interact with sound frequencies, all in front of your eyes, challenging your senses.

Crystal Seeds, was presented for the first time at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Santiago, Chile, in January 2023.
